The Impact of Basic Needs Satisfaction on Work Engagement and Turnover Intentions

Purpose: The purpose of the research was to determine how basic needs satisfaction (BNS) impacted work engagement (WE) and turnover intentions (TI) employees at mine.
 Methodology: author used positivist philosophy survey design collected data from 100 through a well-structured questionnaire comprising scales for BNS, WE, TI. questionnaires were delivered based on stratified random sampling after receiving listing 300 eligible participants. Data analysed using SPSS. Cronbach’s alpha 0.793, 0.872, 0.702 respectively Qualitative conducted get views regarding what should be done retain employees.
 Results: three variables in study strongly correlated significant p < .01. correlation between BNS WE .544, TI it -.519, TI, -.459. With controlled, impact insignificant Regression coefficient decreased -.710 -.388, indicating reduction influence when controlled. According Baron Kenny (1986), regression result confirmed that mediator However, partial, not full mediation achieved since direct path non-zero. Using as independent dependent variable, Pearson (R) .560, giving determination (R²) 0.314, contributed 31.4% towards variance TI.
